Just a quick update. We are approx 80 Km West of the SA WA border in a rest area. There is no AM or FM radio but we can get internet... go figure.
We are progressing well we have now done 9 holes of the Nullarbor links the worlds largest golf course. It has been a challenge Anne is playing much better than me I think Gay should consider her a golf partner. Apart from the Kalgoorlie course the fairways are a little questionalble actually scrub is a better description but the greens are okay its amazing how good astro turf is. The road has been good and the truckies have been very patient with us even though we travel much slower than them. We had some rain last night but just enough to dampen the dust and the temperatures have been around 21 Deg C. The skys have been a little overcast but the solar panel is still managing to keep the battery topped up and us in power.
Apart from staying at Fraser Range we have been camping at the rest areas or free camping as they call it. It has been a great way to meet some wonderful people. We are taking it slow at the moment lucky to do 250Km in a day and pulling up early. Anne might do a bit of sewing and me some reading if there is no one to have happy hour with. We are really roughing it Anne is about to have a hot shower then off to bed. Tea's finished and dishes done sitting back listenning to the iPod we might even watch a DVD tonight. |
