Kia Ora, we haven't written for a while so it is time to do a little catching up. Recently we took a trip across the ditch to visit our nearest neighbour New Zealand and check out their much vaunted scenery and natural wonders.
We have based ourselves Walkamin for several months. A house sit has become available once again for up to 12 months if we like so here we are again. We have found house sitting a good way to save money and explore a region like a local would.
I have been considering taking up the black art of servicing ones own car while on the road... well changing the oil and filters at least. At around $300.00 to $350.00 for just a basic service it is getting expensive and they don't even change the fuel filter for that price. Time to review the worth of doing our own servicing.
We took our time packing up to leave Townsville we must be returning to easy going travel mode. Shoud we go today or should we stay. We had already extended our stay by an additional day but we now have decided to move onto or next destination where ever that may be.
Arriving in Julia Creek we originally planned to park at the muched talked about free camp spot a few kilometres East of the town but Anne had a pile of washing she wanted to do so we decided a night in the caravan park to wash then a couple of nights at the popular free camp by the river. It turned out to be our saving grace as it rained quite continuiously through the night.
