Paronella Park is approx 100km South of Cairns about 18km South West of Innisfail. We had originally planned to camp there with the caravan while on the way from Tully to Cairns back in June but the rain had been so heavy we decided to try again another time.
Today is Mic and his brother Jeff's 35th birthday. I just so happens Mic, Carley anf Blake are in North Queensland as the same time as us so we caught up with them in Port Douglas for a Birthday Lunch.
The Great Barrier Reef which lies of the coast of Queensland and stretches from Hervey in the South to Torres Strait in the North and is approx 2300km in length. It starts a fair way off the coast at the southern end but comes closer to the coast as you travel north.
Port Douglas is located about 70 km north of Cairns. You can get there by either going over the Kuranda Range to Mareeba then along the Kennedy Hwy and back down the Rex range or just straight up the Captain Cook Hwy along the coastal drive. The markets are held each Sunday down by the river at the end of town.
We have finally arrived at Cairns Coconut Tourist Park our temporary home for the next 4 weeks. We have only been here 5 minutes and we are talking about extending already.
